I was sent a Tweet this morning that was originally posted by Meghan Amor. To be clear, I do not know who Meghan is and I haven’t had time to verify if this is entirely accurate but I do see in her subsequent thread of tweets that she does have Saskatchewan Government links to back this up and, therefore, I’m going to relay this to all of you however if there is someone out there who can verify this as INCORRECT, please let me know or post in the comments as it’s important for people to know whether or not this is the case.
Proper statistics are necessary to interpret these numbers. Looking at them like this is misleading. It’s like two farmers talking and one saying “I harvested 12,000bu of wheat this year” and another replying “well I harvested 15,000bu this year” but the first guy did it over 240 ac and the second over 1000ac. The proper way to look at these numbers are breaking it down to per 100k of each population, as there are around 800,000 doubled vaccinated people in the province and around 150,000 unvaccinated. Throughout the 4th wave consistently 80% of the cases were unvaccinated /100k and 6-8% of cases were double vaccinated /100k. Comparing numbers without considering population of each group is pointless.
