RANDOM THOUGHTS ON A CRAZY WEEK

It’s becoming more and more clear vaccinated people are getting and spreading Covid.  It would make sense to me that we should either stop counting cases altogether or else drop the vaccine passport mandates as they no longer serve any purpose aside from discriminating against a group of people who have a backbone and refuse to do what the government is trying to force on everyone.  If this is truly about health, and most of us know that it is more and more about obedience to those in power, the only thing that matters are hospitalizations and deaths.  

At this point, it would seem to make the most sense to compare the number of cases versus the number of cases that end up in the hospital to best determine the strength of this new variant.  If you have 1000 cases a day, it doesn’t matter if virtually none of them end up requiring hospital care.  It would also seem to be prudent to look at the ratio of cases to hospitalizations and compare it to the ratio of cases to hospitalizations from a year ago and that will, very quickly, tell us whether or not this virus is mutating in a way that is less lethal as time goes on.  

Peterborough, Ontario has ordered restaurant servers to wear goggles.  I posted this on my social media page on Tuesday night and the reaction was met with a great deal of laughter and comedy.  I assure you this is no joke and if Peterborough gets away with it, you can expect it to move into Saskatchewan in the coming weeks despite the fact there is no evidence at all that this would be helpful.  On top of the order being humiliating, it’s going to result in a massive shortage of employees as no person in their right mind is going to subject themselves to those kinds of work conditions.  I said over a year ago that Canada would, at some point, try and institute a protective eyewear mandate and nobody believed me.  

This is also why I felt masks should always be about personal choice.  The ‘just a mask’ argument is merely a subtle step towards imposing tyranny.  As Jordan Peterson told Joe Rogan a number of years ago, “If I encroach on you and I am sophisticated about it, I will encroach to the point you protest and then I’ll stop and wait.  You calm down and then I’ll encroach again.  You protest.  I’ll stop and wait.  I’m just going to do that forever and before you know it you are back three miles from where you started and you will wonder how you got here and the answer is that I pushed you a little farther than you should have gone and you agreed.  Then I pushed a bit further and you agreed.”  Can anyone actually imagine a Canada without masks?  It’s practically impossible to comprehend (back three miles from where we started) and now we are going to try goggles as the next encroachment.  Will you agree? 

Ontario’s Health Minister dealt with protesters at her home tonight (Wednesday) and many in the media are crying foul and saying her private house should be off limits to those upset with government measures.  I’m going to disagree on this.  The government has been in all of our homes for two years telling us who we can have over and when.  If our homes are open season for power hungry politicians, then their homes are fair game if people feel passionate enough to protest.  I’ve heard scattered reports  about politicians and health officials in Saskatchewan needing security people to ensure their safety and while that’s very unfortunate I don’t think these tyrants understand the lengths with which they are pushing people and we are in a very dangerous time right now as so many people have lost so much and when you have people who no longer have anything more to lose, we run the risk of outright anarchy and I am not sure that has sunk into the thick skulls of the political braintrust in this country.

When I was a lot younger and growing up in New Brunswick, I recall Premier Frank McKenna dealing with a very high unemployment rate and his way of trying to put people to work was to lure companies who utilized telemarketers into his province.  He made some enemies along the way as some provinces lost jobs due to the exodus into a more attractive business climate in New Brunswick.  I feel Saskatchewan is in a similar predicament today with its health system.  We have healthcare workers in other provinces who have been deemed unfit to do their jobs because of their vax status.  While there would be criticism from other provinces as well as looney tune media outfits, Scott Moe should drop this nonsensical v-pass mandate and open up the province to frontline health workers who have been fired elsewhere.  It would be the fastest way to build much needed capacity and it would allow us to deal with future waves of Covid without infringing on the rights of citizens or crushing small businesses.  If we truly want to save as many lives as possible and if we truly want to allow everyone to just live their life, this is the absolute best way to do it and we need to get on this before any other province decides to drop the mandates and rehire those who have been canned.

CEOs from American and Southwest Airlines spoke at a US Senate Committee hearing this week and both called out the nonsense behind mask wearing.  “I think the case is very strong that masks don’t add much, if anything, in the air cabin environment,” said Southwest CEO Gary Kelly.  “I concur,” added American CEO Doug Parker.  However, since mask wearing policies continue to be protected by political theatre and influence, American Airlines acknowledges they would take an intolerable PR hit so the masks stay on.

The biggest study ever conducted on mask efficacy was done in Denmark and was released in November 2020.  It found that masks don’t offer much benefit at all but yet because they are a visual sign that we are doing something, they are treated as the ultimate form of protection.  Yet, if you went into a crowd and announced that you are Covid + but also told those around you not to worry because you are vaccinated and you are wearing a mask, you’d be sent on your merry way quite quickly.  To be clear:  I believe masks work when worn by people who don’t have the virus.

It does seem rather convenient that, as vaccine effectiveness starts to wane and people grow skeptical, that there is another variant released and the fear mongering is ratcheted up to 15 in order to convince you to get shot number three.  All I will say is that governments in Canada doublecrossed and lied over what would happen once you got your first two shots so there is no reason to think they won’t do the exact same thing on shot three.  Again, a form of encroachment and we agreed.  Then we protested about dose three, so the government stopped but now they are going to try it again from a different angle looking for a different result.  Will you agree?

Joe Rogan’s recent podcast with Dr. Peter McCullough is garnering a lot of attention and for good reason.  Dr. McCullough is a highly qualified physician who has treated patients for Covid and has plenty to say about vaccines, coercion, and the lack of early treatment for people who got a Covid positive test result.  Conspiracy theorists will love it so it’s very easy to convince those folks to listen but I would also encourage those of you who are scared of the virus to also listen.  It’s unhealthy to be in fear for as long as we have and there are beacons of light for you in this podcast.  It’s just over two and a half hours long but the time flies once you get listening to it.  Spotify is the platform if you are interested and don’t know where to find it.
