NOT AN ENCOURAGING READ

I saw a clip from comedian Jim Breuer over the Christmas holidays and it really resonated with me.  It sums up how I’ve felt since the spring of 2020 and continue to feel today as I see the world get turned totally upside down with what’s wrong being sold as right and what’s right being sold as wrong.  I’ve transcribed the clip from Breuer and here it is:  “They aren’t human.  They are disgusting and should be held accountable. Every last one of them.  Every mayor, every governor that shamed you, terrorized you, tore your family apart, made you lose your job.  They divided everybody.  That was the most disgusting display of humanity and these are the people that are controlling my life and your life and they are taking my money and do whatever they want with it.  I don’t have a choice where my taxes go.” I know in Saskatchewan, there are a lot of people who feel as though the provincial government was better than most and while we maybe had the least amount of restrictions, that doesn’t nor shouldn’t absolve them of being complicit. The Premier still has not apologized for pushing ‘the safest vaccine is the first one offered’ when two of those brands were pulled from the market. There is a lot of apologizing that hasn’t been done and it’s, merely, being pretended that certain words and actions never happened.

This next quote is the one that most relates to how I feel today and it’s frustrating to interact with people who I know are smart, well educated, well intentioned, and have a good heart and yet they don’t see any of this. “I saw it as a complete takeover.  Even in my own house.  These kids are all indoctrinated.  I feel we are at war.  100%.  This is war.  However you want to describe it.  It’s a war on your common sense, a war on the control of your life, a war on your spirituality, a war on your conscience and your mind.  It’s not a game.  It’s real.  Unfortunately, humanity doesn’t believe that evil exists and boy does it exist.  You’d be horrified when you realize where they are all located and I’m not sure some people can handle that.  The ones that can are very ready.  They are done.”

I don’t like writing graphic details, but when I see police in Toronto handing out hot coffee to Palestinian protesters my blood boils.  I’m going to give details of just one story from the violence carried out on October 7th.  One Jewish woman was thrown to the ground and her pants were ripped down to her ankles.  She was raped from behind by a Hamas terrorist.  As he raped her, every time she flinched, he drove a knife into her back until she was dead.  That happened.  There are countless witnesses who confirmed it.  When Canadian politicians are wishy washy on condemning Hamas, this is the type of behaviour they are wavering on opposing.  When police are handing out coffee to these disrupters, that’s the type of of behaviour they are, silently, supporting.  And, I, for one have no use for anybody that supports this.  I realize I’m maybe a bit emotional in writing this today, but I feel like if you are a police officer and you are opposed to the kind of violent rape described above, you should turn in your badge to protest the handing out of hot coffee to the pro-Hamas demonstrators in Toronto.

The world truly is upside down when you have a peaceful trucker convoy that is concerned about eroding freedoms and the media demonizes them to the point where merely going public to suggest the convoy is not what is portrayed, it can cost you your job and yet those who support terrorism get served hot coffee.  Support for the convoy became so widespread the government started freezing bank accounts.  To want democratic freedom and oppose the constant micro-management of human interaction was so evil that bank accounts were frozen.  But what’s going on now?  Not a whisper on how to shut it down.  Just put up with it and even give them coffee.  That’s Canada. That’s what we’ve become as a country.  And you know what?  Nearly half of the population WANTS this.  338Canada is a very reliable polling website and while it has the Conservatives well out in front, if you take the Liberal and NDP support and add it together, 46% want a form of government similar to what we have been subjected to for the last nine years.  They love it and want more.  

What I see happening is a Liberal government that recognizes it may be dead in the water whenever we go to the polls next.  So, they are going to use whatever time is left to rush through as many radical laws as possible and enact the worst form of legislation imaginable and it will be impossible for the Conservatives to undo it all.  It’s already at that point.  I’m also of the mindset that the Conservatives are only marginally better than the Liberals anyway but even if they have the best of intentions at heart, how and where do you start? 

If and when Universal Basic Income becomes reality, the annihilation of this country will be pretty much complete.  People just don’t have the mental capacity to grasp that they are worse off when the government controls your income.  They think that there is some sort of immovable force working against them to maximize their financial well being and the government is looking out for them and that’s the best way to put food on the table.  The government takes $10, gives you back $1 and then threatens you that if another Party is elected into power, they’ll keep that $1 and you will starve.  It works.  Just wait and see what happens in the polls if UBI takes effect.
